A Special Thank You from our Clicker Mogan

...and Thank You Mogan for all the Leadership you displayed at the Click! Camp. Your a great Youth Leader.

P.S.--Mogan stayed up all night making over 50 individualized thank you notes to all the facilitators and organizers.. WOW!

Our New Youth Leaders Make Final Presentations

After a morning of community outreach, some of which was in the rain, the youth and alumni came together for one final session to share their experiences. For many, this was the first time they had ever given back to their communities on this level.

From watching these presentations, it was clear to see the personal growth that everyone made at the Click! Camp.

The Clickers are becoming Leaders. They understand what it means to have a sense of Social Responsibility. And they are ready to give back through Community Outreach.

Finally, they improved their English-language skills as this camp was an opportunity to speak only in English for 4 days.

Let's give everyone a big round of Applause for doing such a Great Job!

Way to go Clickers!

Re-Painting a Local Community Mosque

20 Clickers and 5 Alumni visited the Surau Kampong Cherating Lama to give it a fresh coat of paint. The Village Leaders were overjoyed to see a group of youth from all over Malaysia come by on a Sunday morning to repaint the small community mosque.

The youth and alumni were so excited to give back in this special way. Ambassador Jones made a special trip to join in giving a new look to this Muslim house of worship.

The Ambassador and Malaysian-American Alumni President Faisal Hassan made a donation of food and prayer mats to the community leaders in this small village. Local media also dropped by to cover this community outreach event in the local newspaper.

Before they departed, everyone posed for one big community photo which ended with a big cheer!

Way to Go..... Great Job!

Teaching English to Pre-Schoolers

The Clickers and Alumni dropped by a local community pre-school to teach basic English in the form of games and simple songs. They also conducted story telling and dressed up in costumes such as Sponge Bog Square Pants and Superman. They were joined by Ambassador Jones and his family who were happy to contribute to this outreach to the community.

Following the storytelling, the pre-schoolers were so excited to meet the Ambassador that it was pretty hard to calm them down.

This is a day they won't forget. Thanks to all the Clickers and Alumni that reached out and gave so much of themselves to the Pre-Schoolers.

Way to Go!

Hello To All of My New Friends From Mark

Hello All Clickers, Staff, and Alumni,

It was great to meet all of you this weekend in Cherating. I am far from my home in Lubbock, Texas USA while I am in Malaysia as a Fulbright Visiting Scholar, so it is always great to make some new friends and to see some of my friends in Malaysia again. I had an especially great time with Group #2 during our visit to the Turtle Sanctuary! I look forward to keeping in touch with each of you.

I have been in Malaysia for five months and there are still five more months until it is time for me to go home. If you want to learn more about my adventures in Malaysia you can look at my blog at http://markinmalaysia.blogspot.com/. I will be posting about my trip to Cherating very soon. You can also find me at Facebook under my name- Mark McGinley (if there are multiple Mark McGinleys, then I am the one from Texas Tech University) so I hope that you all want to be my friend.

I look forward to hearing from you. Thanks for helping me to have a great weekend,'

Mark

I Love the Clickers and the Turtles too!

Hi Clickers. My name is Catherine Jones and I am the wife of Ambassador Jones. I'm so impressed with all the Clickers and the amazing work they did in the communities this morning.

I also fell in with the baby turtles at the Turtle Sanctuary and would love to organize some more Embassy outreach involving American youth supporting the turtle youth in Malaysia.

It's all about youth this weekend and we can't forget about protecting our young turtles and their environment too.

I'm so happy to meet all the Clickers, their teachers and the Amazing Alumni who have all developed so much confidence and leadership ability in such a short time.

My family and I look forward to more partnerships soon.

We'll back to see our turtle friends soon and bring an even bigger group.
